MAINTENANCE INTERVAL GUIDELINES
Factors That Affect Maintenance Requirements
Your Nissan is designed to run for many years to come, when correctly maintained. The way you drive your vehicle and the conditions in which it operates can affect how frequently its components need to be inspected, adjusted or replaced.
Vehicle Loads
Towing a trailer, using a camper or car-top carrier and frequently hauling heavy loads make your vehicle work harder, so it will require attention more often.
Shorter Trips
Repeated short trips of less than 8 kilometers increase your vehicle’s maintenance needs.
Freezing Conditions
Canadian driving conditions are classified as ‘Severe Operating Conditions’ and therefore it is critical to ensure you follow the recommendations found in your owner’s manual for all maintenance-related items. In cold weather, your vehicle will need maintenance more often if your average trip length is less than 16 kms.
Hot Weather
Stop-and-go traffic or long-distances at low speeds can place additional stress on a vehicle’s cooling systems, requiring more frequent checks.
Salt, Dust & Mud
Driving on salt-spread roads or in dusty, rough or muddy conditions can accelerate wear on various vehicle components.
STANDARD MAINTENANCE†
Performed every 8,000 kilometers or 6 months, whichever comes first
Standard maintenance generally applies when you primarily operate your vehicle in temperate conditions.
8,000 KMS OR 6 MONTH INTERVALS
- Replace engine oil and filter
- Rotate tires (except all 370Z)
- Check and adjust tire pressures
- Inspect the following:
- Axle & suspension parts
- Brake pads, rotors, drums and linings
- Drive shaft boots
- Exhaust system
- Front suspension ball joints
- Propeller shaft (4WD/AWD/RWD)
- Steering gear and linkage
- Steering linkage ball joints
16,000 KMS OR 12 MONTH INTERVALS
- Replace engine oil and filter
- Rotate tires (except all 370Z)
- Check and adjust tire pressures
- Replace brake fluid
- Inspect the following:
- Automatic transmission
- Axle & suspension parts
- Brake lines & cables
- Brake pads, rotors, drums and linings
- CVT fluid
- Differential oil
- Drive shaft boots
- Manual transmission oil
- Exhaust system
- Front suspension ball joints
- Propeller shaft (4WD/AWD/RWD)
- Steering gear and linkage
- Steering linkage ball joints
- Transfer case oil (4WD/AWD)
24,000 KMS OR 18 MONTH INTERVALS
- Replace engine oil and filter
- Replace in-cabin microfilter
- Replace I-Key battery
- Rotate tires (except all 370Z)
- Check and adjust tire pressures
- Inspect the following:
- Axle & suspension parts
- Brake pads, rotors, drums and linings
- Drive shaft boots
- Exhaust system
- Front suspension ball joints
- Propeller shaft (4WD/AWD/RWD)
- Steering gear and linkage
- Steering linkage ball joints
PREMIUM MAINTENANCE†*
Performed in addition to Standard Maintenance items every 48,000 kms or 36 months
Performing the Premium upgrade services may optimize the performance, durability, reliability and resale value of your vehicle.
Hot Weather
- Lubricate all locks/hinges
- Replace automatic transmission/CVT fluid
- Replace differential oil
- Replace engine drive belts
- Replace manual transmission oil (if applicable)
- Replace radiator cap
- Replace transfer case oil (4WD/AWD)
- Replace wiper blades
- Inspect the following:
- All lights
- Headlights/adjust if necessary
